MDCR's opertes the kerbside collection of recyclable materials
to households
throughout Mid Devon under contract with Mid Devon District Council. Collection details and kerbside boxes can be
sourced via MDCR's website or the District Council.
MDCR is a community business, run as a not-for-profit company.
Items collected include: paper, cardboard, cans/tins, glass bottles and jars, textiles, 'tetrapak' juice cartons, plastic milk bottles, household batteries, ink cartridges.
MDCR are keen to influence government policy at a local and a national level towards a more sustainable resource management policy for the UK and for Devon in particular.

Composters
A thriving community composting scheme in this Devon village. We are
taking responsibility for the organic waste that we generate and returning
it to the community for our use. Not only that: we are raising cash
from the collected recycling credits which is being ploughed back into
local organisations! Set up in September 1995 and composting from March
1997, the enthusiasm with which the scheme has developed and the amounts
of green waste composted have exceeded our most optimistic hopes.
