SPARC
Scrap-store.
SPARC (South Devon Play and Resources Centre) combines recycling of
clean non-toxic waste materials in South Devon, with promotion
and development of play and education using these materials. SPARC operates
a scrapstore in Totnes. Membership
of SPARC is open to all, and currently include playgroups, nurseries,
families, childminders, youth groups, schools and festival or carnival
groups. We operate workshops throughout South Devon demonstrating the
creative uses of reused materials and stage exhibitions on the same
theme. SPARC also hires out play equipment such as badge machines and
play parachutes and specializes in making Play Resource Boxes about
different cultures. These Resource Boxes are perfect for inspiring
children to explore other cultures. For access to the materials at both scrapstores, SPARC annual membership costs £10 for families, £17 for groups and £30 for schools. SPARC is a registered charity
(no. 1064057).
